The famous statue of the Satyr Pouring Wine, found in Torre del Greco and donated by King Ferdinand II of Bourbon to Palermo, is a Roman copy of a work by Praxiteles, dating back to 370-360 BC. The Satyr is depicted pouring wine from an oinochoe (jug) held in his right hand, directing it towards a ceramic cup placed on his left hand. The soft and sensual gestures inspire a sense of tranquility, accentuated by the delicate forms of the anatomical relief.
