The work is inspired by the flag of the Italian Navy, which bears the coats of arms of the ancient maritime republics. The painting of Tommaso Cascella (Rome 1951) is inclined to the three-dimensional transposition in symbiosis with his bronze sculptures; his intense chromatic compositions are real architectures studded with universal symbols and meanings. Painting and sculpture are treated with the desire to contaminate the sight with touch, the surface of color with a layering of gestures and signs, material inserts. The titles of the works are evidence of a deep passion for books.
