Théodore, "Peintre Ordinaire du Roi" in the French court, was the son of Juste d'Egmont, a Flemish painter who worked for Louis XIII, being one of his favourites. Marie-Anne Mancini, Cardinal Mazarin's niece, married the Duke of Bouillon. He created a Literary Hall in his own palace that brought together great writers and poets.
