PORTRAIT OF LOUIS XIII DAUPHIN OF FRANCE (1601-1643), 1610 Frans Pourbus the Younger, Flemish school. There are several versions of this portrait, one of them full-length is in the Galleria Uffizi, in Florence. Louis XIII was the eldest son of Maria de' Medici and Henry IV, who had been waiting for this heir for a long time. On the death of his father at the hands of the fanatic Ravaillac, Louis became the young king of France.
