THE INFANTA MARGARITA TERESA OF SPAIN (1651-1673), around 1665 Attributed to Francisco Ignacio Ruiz de la Iglesia (1649-1704) Spanish School. Margarita was painted by Velázquez in numerous portraits, including his famous work “Las Meninas”. In 1663, at the young age of twelve, Philip IV's daughter was betrothed to her uncle Leopold I of Habsburg, thus becoming Empress of Austria.
