PORTRAIT OF THE INFANT FRANCISCO DE PAULA (1794-1865), 1799 Antonio Carnicero (1748-1814), Spanish school, At the end of the 18th century, Carnicero worked as a painter for Carlos IV, representing some of the most prominent figures of the Spanish court . In this portrait we can see the youngest son of the king, the infante Francisco de Paula, who was at the same time a student of the painter. The fashion "a la marinera" and the garden indicate a more relaxed concept of childhood than in previous centuries.
