Gerolamo Casertano
RST - n. 12, 1982, oil on canvas, 82x52 cm
Born in Naples in 1946 to a Neapolitan father and a Genoese mother. Grandson of the renowned Ligurian painter Gerolamo Graffigna from whom the entire family will receive an imprint.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, in the painting school of the master Domenico Spinosa. The encounter with the artist Eduardo Giordano, known as Buchicco, considered by the artist as the mentor of the heart, will be fundamental.
A free painter, reluctant to any form of conceptual constraint, he followed the mere compulsivity of making art with the melancholy and delicacy of a dreamer sick of infinity. He passed away in Naples in 2017, leaving behind works woven with signs rich in visionary creative potential.
