Verified profile

This large Chinese dish belongs to the service bearing the weapon of the Mexican Marquis of Obando, of which several other pieces are known in European and American collections. Both the elegant decorative formula with which the heraldic coat of arms is painted, and the two-tone black-gold, the so-called Schwarzlot, are derived from the artistic style of the Viennese Du Paquier and the German Hausmalers.
