The Museo della Ceramica G. Gianetti, inaugurated in 1994, houses a collection of fine eighteenth-century and contemporary ceramics. It is located inside a villa from 1938 that was the residence of the Biffi family, of which Nina was the wife of Giuseppe Gianetti. The original villa preserves its unchanged floors, parquet, marbles, staircases, fixtures, furnishings, paintings, mirrors, Murano chandeliers, bathrooms with their fittings, and even the light switches. Noteworthy is the staircase railing leading to the second floor of the Museum, designed by Carla Biffi, and the built-in wardrobes, recently transformed into display cases showcasing the collector's personal effects. The museum's surrounding garden with its small rose garden and contemporary art installations is also accessible. The museum was conceived not only as a place of memory and collection but as an opportunity to create a movement of expression-creation and documentation-research in the field of visual, plastic, and decorative arts. The meticulous work of research and cataloging, conservation, enhancement, dissemination, and educational proposals are defining and vital points of this museum supported by the COE Educational Guidance Center Foundation.
