Maraini's interest in tiny details of flora and fauna, probably derived from his naturalistic background, is a constant in his photography. It is not a true "macrophotography" like in the famous case of Roman Vishniac (1897-1990), but rather a subtle exploration, a journey among the smallest elements of the visible world.
