The technique of photographing individuals from behind as they observe a distant landscape was successfully experimented by Maraini since his early photographic beginnings and used not only in alpine photography, but also in less extreme contexts. The main advantage of this framing probably lies in the spatial involvement conveyed to the viewer of the image.
