The traditional costume of Kalash women, worn from childhood throughout life, consisted of a brown sheep wool tunic, long to the feet and a hood made of a strip of sheep wool, of the same color as the tunic. The hood was decorated with cypress and pieces of metal, medals and jingling trinkets; at the top, a colored wool pompom was sewn.
