Description

Model of the marbles of St. Petersburg and Ottawa, this dancer (born after the one with the finger on her chin, 1809, and before the one with the cymbals, 1812) has her hair gathered and held by a crown of flowers. The rhythm, the sinuosity are all in the body that can be glimpsed under the very light clothes held elegantly on the hips. The bare feet up to the calf, raised with grace and vigor together, allow the free movement of the body and give impetus to the entire statue.
