Model of the St. Petersburg and Ottawa marbles, this dancer (born after the one with the finger on the chin, 1809, and before the one with the cymbals, 1812) has her hair gathered and held in place by a crown of flowers. The rhythm, the sinuosity are all in the body that can be glimpsed under the very light garments held back with elegance at the hips. The bare feet up to the calf, raised with grace and vigor together, allow free movement of the body and give momentum to the entire statue.
