Luisa and Gaetano Cozzi house

In addition to its institutional headquarters (the Bomben and Caotorta buildings), in the church of San Teonisto, and in Ca' Scarpa, the Benetton Studi Ricerche Foundation carries out part of its activity in Casa Luisa and Gaetano Cozzi, a farmhouse immersed in the Zero Branco countryside at doors of Treviso, testamentary bequest of Professor Gaetano Cozzi (1922-2001), illustrious historian, board member of the Foundation from the very beginning and promoter of its scientific activities.

Eight hectares of agricultural land surround the house, immersing it in the quiet and charm of the countryside.

The agricultural part is managed in collaboration with farmers in the area and constitutes an agricultural landscape laboratory for the recovery of biodiversity through the correct maintenance of riparian hedges and ditches, avoiding the use of chemical aids.

Oaks, alders, willows and dogwoods draw the environment and two rows of mulberry trees trace the path of an eighteenth-century road moved to modern times. A grove of oaks, hornbeams and alders and a small garden, bordered by large trees and a splendid centuries-old poplar, surround the four sides of the house and establish a dialogue with the surrounding landscape.

In compliance with the legacy, educational activities in the field of music are organized, in memory of Luisa Zille (1941-1995), wife of the professor, scholar and expert on the history of language, poetry and music, of whom the prestigious Bechstein piano is preserved .

In particular, advanced courses in singing and instrumental practice are organized as well as didactic projects in residence aimed at concert productions and recordings.

The house is equipped with a small guesthouse and has a library which contains part of the documentary collection of Gaetano Cozzi, available for consultation by scholars.
