On January 22nd at 5:00 pm, the exhibition GIUBILEO 2025. LE VIE DELLA FEDE was inaugurated in Rome, at the National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo, promoted and organized by the European Center for Tourism Culture and Entertainment and hosted in the spaces of the National Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo, belonging to the State Museums Directorate of the city of Rome of the Ministry of Culture.

The project traces the evolution through the centuries of themes and figures of sacred art, testimonies of the complex relationship over time of the community with religious sense, within a place - Castel Sant'Angelo - whose history is intimately intertwined with that of the Church.

The exhibition, designed and curated by Mariastella Margozzi, until a few months ago Director of the State Museums of the City of Rome, with the collaboration of Stéphane Verger and Cardinal Angelo Comastri, is accompanied by a catalog edited by Gangemi Editore which presents essays by Cardinal Comastri, Cardinal Agostino Marchetto, Massimo Ruben Rossi, as well as the curator. The texts related to the artists and works on display are by Vincenzo Lemmo, Michele Occhioni, Laura Salerno, Riccardo Salvatori.

From the oldest works, those of Vittore Crivelli from the late fifteenth century, to the most recent ones by the contemporary artist Omar Galliani, the exhibition unfolds a path that spans over five hundred years of history. Starting from the art of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries (with works, among others, by Orazio Gentileschi, Bernardo Cavallino, Mattia Preti), passing through the cultural choices of modernity artists (Domenico Morelli, Gaetano Previati) to finally arrive at the search for a deep and renewed spirituality in those of the second half of the twentieth century (the anguish of Mario Sironi, the hieratic serenity of Giacomo Manzù, the religious vision of Venanzo Crocetti, the tempestuous one of Pericle Fazzini, the caustic spirit of Giovanni Hajnal). With Omar Galliani, the only living artist and a leading exponent of renewed figurative research, the exhibition addresses the contemporary representation of the understanding and visual objectification of the mysteries of Faith.

At the same time, and always in the wake of exemplifying the many possible paths of Faith, the exhibition opens up to the thoughts of women and men of the last century: saints, blessed, but also figures of contemporary culture.
