Fondazione Elpis presents the exhibition of the artist's workshop "Time and the Water Conduit" by Sabrina Mezzaqui and Claudia Losi, open to the public from Wednesday, October 22nd to Thursday, November 2nd, 2025, where the works of the two artists blend and interact with the creations produced by the participants in the activities.

The workshop, held from October 17th to 19th at Fondazione Elpis, took as its starting point the text by Andri Snær Magnason, "Time and the Water" (Iperborea, 2020), which tells of the current times, during which in a few generations, perhaps in the same life of an individual, the world around us is destined to undergo radical changes with a "speed that has the force of myth: it not only involves every form of life on Earth" but presents us with changes much larger than those our minds are accustomed to... more complex than our language and the metaphors we use to navigate reality" (p.13).

Fascinated by this narrative and inspired by the call to conscious action to desire a change that starts first and foremost with a change in the way we look, which must be attentive and shared, the artists decided to weave their practices anew.

The workshop started with paper: the printed paper from the book, using its pages, words, photos, blank spaces, and the poor paper once used to wrap food or straw paper, turning them into shapes and transforming them into shadows. All done in simple and accessible ways, like cutting, tearing, threading, folding, gluing. Participants are guided in creating their own works to relate to emptiness and fullness, light and darkness. Repeated gestures, hands that teach patience while listening to words that accompany the work or in the planned meetings with some guests.

The result of these days is an exhibition, open to the public at the spaces of Fondazione Elpis, which constitutes a formal return of the shared experience between the artists and the participants: a collective installation, animated by actions and encounters.
