Paratissima, by its nature, is a place of meeting and exchange that condenses and mixes artists and audiences, many different people, who carry with them a plurality of glances, experiences, ideas. A welcoming event, which sees art as a party and a place open to all, inclusive. This constitutes its richness, and its challenge, but above all its freedom.

This new edition is the seventeenth, which comes after two years of pandemic, of world and life review, of transit into a future that will be very different from the past, even if still inscrutable and in complete writing. An epochal era, which marks the before and after of a global community, which has finally realized that it is. The natural theme is the debate and discussion on what is happening, on an existence to be redesigned and built together, on an individual and collective level. A theme that we all deal with, in newspapers, in films, when we have coffee at the bar, in dinners with friends ... It is the theme because it is life, all of it, that is involved and upset. And it's about everyone.

Thus, Paratissima does not give itself a theme for this edition, but turns into a laboratory that takes the form of a large listening room. It listens to the artists who animate it: they give the theme, the themes. Them, which are outposts, whiskers, antennae. Eyes open in a space where we do not use sight but perception, that of which artists have the gift. This is the social role of artists, who are gods

shamans, and so they must remain. Poetic and political actions are the works and artistic practices, which provide sparks and epiphanies on parallel dimensions, sensitive even if invisible, of a common cosmos not always made of tangible and rational matter.
