The Prize, managed by the MACTE Foundation since 2020, is divided into the sections of Visual Arts and Architecture and Design. From May 30 to September 20, 2025, the Prize will present an exhibition featuring the works of 12 contemporary artists and the results of the international call for the Rebranding Project of the city of Termoli.
The 64th edition of the Termoli Prize, curated by the director of MACTE Caterina Riva, showcases the diverse works of Mario Airò, Monia Ben Hamouda, Lucia Cristiani, Luca De Angelis, BintaDiaw, Adji Dieye, Roberto Fassone, Aldo Giannotti, Elisa Giardina Papa, Allison Grimaldi Donahue, Paolo Icaro, and Jiajia Zhang, artists selected by the curatorial committee composed of Simone Ciglia, Gioia Dal Molin, Rossella Farinotti, and Emanuele Guidi.
From video to painting, from installation to photography, from sculpture to performance, the 64th Termoli Prize embraces different formats, becoming a privileged observatory on contemporary art practices and offering multiple perspectives that extend beyond Italy or provide an outsider's view of Italy, as often happens to artists and curators working across different nations and cities.
The exhibition presents the work of artists chosen without age limits or restrictions on the type of work presented, aiming to foster an active dialogue between different artistic generations and with the public, who can express their preference for the Prize by voting for their favorite work, which will receive a special mention.
As always, the winning work of the 64th edition of the Termoli Prize will be acquired for the collection of the MACTE Museum of Contemporary Art in Termoli.
The international competition, activated for the Architecture and Design Section through the online platform Terraviva, which focuses on international architecture and design competitions and urban regeneration, attracted nearly 400 Rebranding projects for the city of Termoli, towards a conscious cultural transformation.
The exhibition will showcase the outcome of the selection by an international jury which, among the nearly four hundred submitted projects, will choose a first, second, and third prize. Additionally, 10 special mentions will be presented in the exhibition space, and another 30 will be visible on the Terraviva website.
