A project room to show the public not only works of art but a particular approach to artistic research.

The title Superstimolo originates from the concept of the same name theorized in 1948 by the ethologist and Nobel laureate Nikolaas Tinbergen. In fact, Tinbergen's “supernormal stimulus” is an artificial stimulus, quantitatively or qualitatively enhanced with respect to its natural state, which causes more intense instinctive reactions. Starting from this assumption, the project tries to validate the hypothesis that art itself can be de fi ned as something that activates the viewer in more complex and different ways than the norm.

The environments presented are linked to the latest research launched by Numero Cromatico on the synaesthetic mechanisms of perception and on how the aesthetic experience is 'multicomponential' and determined by various physiological, cultural and environmental factors. Each appointment of the project is characterized by particular sounds, smells, materials, shapes and colors proposed in the form of different devices.

The goal is to create an immersive and introspective space, an environment built to trigger an intense reaction in the user and to outline a new way of coexistence between human beings, artificial intelligences and apparently opposite elements, thus trying to undermine the idea of distance and diversity.
