The MAXXI Museum - National Museum of 21st Century Arts is located in Rome and is dedicated to contemporary creativity.
Inaugurated in May 2010, the MAXXI is managed by a private foundation established by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. In 2013, it was also recognized as a private research institution.
Conceived as a large cultural campus, the MAXXI was designed by Zaha Hadid, winner of an international competition, and is a grand architectural work with innovative and spectacular forms in the center of Rome.
It produces and hosts exhibitions of art, architecture, design, and photography, as well as projects in fashion, cinema, music, theater and dance performances, lectures, and meetings with artists, architects, and key figures of our time.
The MAXXI is much more than a museum: it is a platform open to all forms of creativity and a place for meetings, exchanges, and collaborations, a space open to everyone, a laboratory for the future.
