From 11 March to 26 March 2023
A particular exhibition is being prepared in the Dependance of the Antonio Carena House Museum.
This is the collective entitled "Feminine Distraenze" , organized by Nicolò Balocco, curator of the House Museum, to celebrate International Women's Day with an exhibition that is not only a representation of the female universe but that tells it through hands, techniques , styles and emotions of women who have chosen art as a tool to talk about what men cannot tell.
What better way, therefore, to officiate 'the feminine' than through art?
The history of art is full of the representation of the female figure but the gaze that the works "give" in this sense is almost exclusively male.
"Feminine distractions" wants to propose the representation of the woman, of her dimension, of the infinite facets that characterize her and with which she identifies, through the hands of the women themselves. Sensuality is the theme that unfolds, told and interpreted with different eyes and traits to express the infinite ways in which women know how to speak.
The inauguration is scheduled for Saturday 11 March at 17.00. On display are the works of 20 female artists who choose different materials and methods of expression. A single work by a male artist is contemplated in the exhibition: it is the video “Oggi Serene” from 2006 in which Antonio Carena is the protagonist while he is intent on painting the body of a model 'of heaven', filmed by a camera.
