Welcome to the Potsdam Film Museum! Here you can experience film history from Babelsberg and the world - in the oldest house in town.

The riding horse stables of the Prussian kings, built in 1685 as an orangery, were given their current appearance in the 18th century by the Sanssouci master builder Knobelsdorff. Since 1981, the film museum and a café have resided in the beautiful baroque building in the historic center of Potsdam. Until 1990 the "Film Museum of the GDR", since then the house has been under the care of the state of Brandenburg. Since July 2011 it has been part of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF , formerly the "Konrad Wolf" University of Film and Television Potsdam-Babelsberg. The permanent exhibition and changing exhibitions take visitors to the Marstall into the world of film, and there are several showings in the cinema every day. The growing collections on Babelsberg film history are a treasure trove for scientists and exhibition organizers. From the Marstall you can reach the parks and palaces of the World Heritage Site by tram, and from the nearby main station you can take the S-Bahn to Filmpark Babelsberg.
