Museum Fluxus + is a Potsdam museum of modern and contemporary art. Opened in 2008 by the Berlin-based art collector and entrepreneur Heinrich Liman , this is Potsdam's first modern art museum. The 1000 m2 exhibition space of the two-story building includes works of art from private collections. The permanent exhibition of the FLUXUS + museum consists of works of art, documents and films by and about the international art movement FLUXUS. On the ground floor there are works by Wolf Vostell, Emmet Williams, Ben Patterson, Nam June Paik and other artists from the 1960s. Works by artists such as Arman, Lebel, Christo, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Hains, Leve and Ann Noël are also presented to give a general idea of the avant-gardes of the second half of the twentieth century. The exhibits on the second floor of the museum focus on Wolf Vostell's art and work. Here, smaller art objects, sketches and paintings than large works by Vostell reflect his motto “Leben ist Kunst. Kunst ist Leben ”:" Life is art, art is life ". The collection includes some of Vostell's earliest sketches and several works he completed shortly before his death, illustrating his work as an artist, designer, composer, painter and pioneer of video making.
