The archaeological area includes the acropolis of the city of Herakleia, founded in 433/32 BC, and the urban sanctuaries. The orthogonal urban layout is partially exposed, on whose axes the housing units are arranged, consisting of residential areas and production units arranged around an uncovered central courtyard. In the late Hellenistic period there is the model of the peristyle house. The sacred areas are dedicated to the cult of Dionysus (the foundations of the temple and the adjacent agora with the altar are visible) and of Demeter (on two terraces)
