From Friday, September 13th at the Fondazione Made in Cloister (Piazza Enrico De Nicola, 48 - Naples) there will be a press conference to present the exhibition Wendy's House by the artist Gabriella Siciliano. The artwork will be open for visits from Saturday, September 14th until the end of November 2024. The artist meeting reserved for the press will also be attended by Eleonora De Blasio from the Fondazione Made in Cloister.Gabriella Siciliano's artistic research materializes through site-specific environmental installations that, starting from a pop aesthetic, invite the viewer to reflect on their own condition of transition, both personal and collective. Her new exhibition, "Wendy's House," intersects with her previous artistic practice and deeply connects with the LAB.oratorio space, relating the function of the space to emotional transformation.
An extraordinary installation that transforms the LAB.oratorio, a gallery of the Fondazione Made in Cloister that historically connected the two wings of the monumental complex of Santa Caterina a Formiello, into a domestic environment inhabited by a mythological creature. An artwork rooted in the convergence between domestic interiors and the metabolization of emotional states. The layering and cementing over time, a sort of domestication of these feelings, feed the fears and difficulties of the individual instead of leading to an awareness and consequently freeing and liberating oneself.
Since 2016, the Fondazione Made in Cloister has been dedicated to enhancing cultural heritage and involving the local community in the development of a sustainable model. LAB.oratorio is a multidisciplinary space dedicated to research, experimentation, and exhibition of emerging artistic scenes, recovered and restored to promote contemporary art. The project was carried out with the support of MiC and SIAE, within the "Per Chi Crea" program.
