The exhibition course presents the art of the ephemeral: photographs of happenings and actions from the 1960s and 1970s. Five exceptional female artists are the focus – Charlotte Moorman (1933-1991), Carolee Schneemann (1939-2019), Yvonne Rainer (born 1934), Yoko Ono (born 1933), and Valie Export (born 1940). Fearless, courageous, uncompromising, and inspiring, the artists reveal themselves. By incorporating fundamental themes such as emancipation, peace, freedom, and self-determination in their works, they make striking contributions to the performative art of modern times.
