The exhibition was born from the donation of two significant works by the artist, Nastro passante, from 1976, and Artigli, from 1983, from the studio.
“In 2023 the heirs of the painter Luigi Ravasio communicated to me their decision to donate two of the painter's works to the Tadini Academy” – says the director, Marco Albertario. “The visits to the artist's studio, carefully guarded by his family, allowed me to get to know the preparatory materials: a set of notebooks, notes, tempera paintings which precede the final oil version and which document the attention with which it was followed the execution of the works. From the awareness of the importance of these materials was born the idea of offering them to the public in a small itinerary that would however give an account of the artist's activity.”
The exhibition, which aims to tell how an abstract work of art is born, is curated by Valentina Raimondo, art historian and research fellow at the University of Bergamo, who is the author of the monograph dedicated to the painter: Luigi Ravasio . The impetuous harmony of color (Pescara 2022).
Luigi Ravasio (Bergamo, 1930 - 2018) trained by attending the studio of the sculptor Giovanni Avogadri and later at the Liceo Artistico di Brera where he attended, among others, the courses of Achille Funi and Guido Ballo and graduated in 1954.
