The MAC Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone, from 13 May to 17 September 2023, presents the Lissone Prize 2023, according to a renewed structure, conceived by the artistic director of the MAC Francesca Guerisoli, which sees the production of an exhibition project made up of four exhibitions curated by Lucrezia Longobardi, Gabi Scardi, Noah Stolz and Saverio Verini. Based on a concept, each curator selected five proposals, for a total of twenty artists invited to the 2023 Lissone Prize: Ludovica Anversa, Sonia Arienta, Marion Baruch, Andrea Barzaghi, Simone Berti, Martina Biolo, Linda Carrara, Simona Da Pozzo, Marco Eusepi, Alice Faloretti, Pietro Librizzi, Eva Marisaldi, Lucas Memmola, Isabella Pers, Tiziana Pers, Nazzarena Poli Maramotti, Giulio Saverio Rossi, Andrea Sala, Alessandra Spranzi, Andreas Zampella.
At the basis of the 2023 Lissone Prize is the desire to bring out the research lines linked to the pictorial medium through the gaze of curators and artists of different generations. Current research that can be traced back to contemporary painting is declined in multiple languages, which expose the concept of painting to countless readings. Individual sensitivity, the different contexts in which the curators and artists involved operate and the generations of which they are an expression describe some of the most lively research themes of today's artistic production.
The exhibition is divided into two chapters: the Grand Prix Section, with the exhibitions Painting as a design practice and Things that happen , the first curated by Gabi Scardi and the second by Noah Stolz, and the New Visions Section, with the exhibitions Views, visions , chasms and Sonata #023, respectively curated by Saverio Verini and Lucrezia Longobardi.
