New Sant'Agnese

The idea of recovering and restoring the former church of Sant'Agnese was born from the desire to create something new, more precisely a place that could become a point of reference for the city of Padua but not only, for the community in general. Through the holding of events and activities, the desire is to create a cultural hub within which synergies and interconnections can be created aimed at enhancing and disseminating art and cultural heritage.

The former church of Sant'Agnese was consecrated in 1949 and is located in the historic center of Padua, in the Ponte Molino area on the corner of via Dante and via Sant'Agnese. It is a medieval building and the first evidence of its existence dates back to 1200. The medieval structure underwent various interventions over the course of four centuries, but the greatest period of enrichment was between the 17th and 18th centuries. During the Second World War a bombing destroyed part of the rectory which was rebuilt from scratch and at the end of the war it was sold to private individuals. After the deconsecration it became a garage until the 1980s when it closed and the building began to fall into a state of decay for a few years until in 2015 the President of the Foundation, Alberto Peruzzo took charge of the recovery and restoration.
