On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Wolfgang Lettl's birth, the new LETTL Museum was inaugurated on December 18, 2019 at Zeuggasse 9, in the heart of the city of Augsburg. An overview of Wolfgang Lettl's entire work is shown on over 650 m². The centerpiece of the museum's collection are the approximately 500 surrealist works by Augusta artist Wolfgang Lettl (18 December 1919 - 10 February 2008). This collection was curated by the Wolfgang Lettl Association for the Promotion of Surreal Art, starting in 1992. It was Wolfgang Lettl's desire that his images not end up on the art market, but rather remain together and be made available to the public. free of charge.
