Traveling in the underground worlds also means looking within, in our depths. For Badly Buried, Eleonora Luccarini plunged into the abyss of her multidimensional self. Through the performance and the moving images, the artist introduces us to his alter ego Léonard Santé, a white cisgender man in an identity crisis. In the performance Léonard Santé 13 poems (2020), the artist reads poems written by Santé. The two personalities struggle through the artist's body as Santé's words echo. Another disturbing presence is perceived: a ghost dominatrix, whose black fetish boots stand next to Luccarini, who is also invoked in Santé's poem “I never kissed a shoe / until yesterday / It's enough for me to know / my girls don 't wear heels just to seem taller ”. At the end of the performance Luccarini finally disappears, leaving the space to be occupied by the invisible presence of Leonard Santé and the phantom dominatrix. In the video 4 hooves don't leave footprints (2021), Santé appears visually for the first time, albeit only as a character in computer-generated imagery (CGI). His creepy childish face contrasts with the bleak scenario of a car accident. The work exists between the clutches of different identities: that of a child who speaks like an adult and a sinner, as well as that between the alter ego and the artist, whose voice conveys his poetry.

With TOMB WRITER (Solve et Coagula) the artist transforms one of the rooms of Palazzo Re Rebaudengo into a tomb. The floor installation centered on the alchemical motto solve et coagula, "melt and coagulate", refers to the fact that everything must be broken down before it can be rebuilt. At the center of the installation is an Ouroboros, an ancient symbol depicting a snake or a dragon eating its own tail; in the margins instead there are some inscriptions on love and hate. The story of these signs is entrusted to a tomb writer, a collective and desecrating literary entity.

In Ruin of a Fiction (Ulexit And) , of 2021, the Ulexite stones are placed on an iPad. There Ulexite, also known as “TV stone” due to its physical properties similar to fibers optical, is used in esoteric practices to increase the memory and vision of dreams. Pos placed on the iPad, the stones bring to the fore the geological composition of the device - its materiality made of rare earths.

Ilaria Vinci's practice explores what she herself calls "the zone of fantasy". His I work weaves narratives of fantastic realism, imagining alternative realities. The artist uses speculative fiction as a tool for thinking about methodologies alternatives of world building. Ask me no more if east or west, the phoenix builds her spicy nest (2021) is an installation widespread in the rooms of Palazzo Re Rebaudengo. The footsteps of the phoenix, unexpected encounters for the audience visiting the Palaz zo, they let a fantastic imaginary into the building, opening new gates between worlds that allow the phoenix to roam free, while remaining invisible. Beneath its surface, the earth hides many things, including magical stories that sometimes res they are hard to believe, stories that are handed down from one generation to the next, making survive traditions that would otherwise be lost.

Nice harmony is a series of scented candles that Belloni conceives as performative objects without the presence of any body. The light of the candles creates wounds on the wax surface in a process of destruction that modifies its initial shape, consequently initiating an inorganic metamorphosis. These ephemeral objects wear out slowly, burning until they finally disappear. The candles attract the attention of the public, attracted by the smell of burning wax and the crackling of the wounds that open with combustion. It almost seems that an unknown ritual takes place in the historical architecture of Palazzo Re Rebaudengo, of which the author or the evoked spirits are unknown.

Belloni's research focuses on the unpredictable, on rituals and practices of spirituality Contemporary. In the first place, his work interprets the subsoil as a place of magic and the unknown, where new knowledge is produced. Prediction aft er the blaze is an ongoing project which consists of a series of sculptures on forecasting the future. The artist uses spodomancy, an ancient form of divination in which you can read the signs left by the ashes of a sacred fire to interpret them the meaning. The words produced by the artist thanks to this ritual give life to a new language. Installed on the wall, as a result of a spell, this project interprets the apocalypse, language and rituals as cultural ruins and methods dologies to create a new semantics.
