Fabio Rocca
Palummelle yellow, 2007, oil on cardboard [glued on canvas], cm 70×100
Born in Alcamo in 1946, has been living in Naples for fifty years.
His painting, lyrical-fascinating and material-significant, reflects in its features and manners the quiet Sicilian restlessness and the jumbled noises of the Neapolitan capital. His abstract representation is influenced by his hitchhiking trips around Europe as a boy.
His political commitment, horror at social injustices, and desire to prioritize the common good above all are, along with his love for the harmoniously beautiful that art can offer, his distinctive mark.
Rocca recently exhibited (in 2018) at the Valenzi Foundation, with his anthology titled “Scandagli entropici”, achieving considerable success.
