This armor was found together with another similar one in a castle in the province of Brescia. Both purchased from Marzoli, only one became part of the civic collection. It is an open field armor, a tournament on horseback in which the contenders faced each other within a competition being able to move freely, and, therefore, being able to hit the opponent from any side. This required better protections and therefore parts were added to the armor, called patches, which went to protect the most exposed parts, giving the knight the peculiar asymmetrical appearance.
