One of the most refined horse objects is the headboard engraved with the monogram Medinaceli, referring to Juan della Cerda, fourth duke of Medinaceli and governor of Sicily since 1557. The headboard is of considerable importance, not only for the splendid workmanship of the artifact or because of the importance of the client, but also because all the other pieces are still preserved in various armories around the world: in the Royal Armory of Turin there is the horse armor with part of the bard, in the armory of the castle Konopiste the buckler and the interlocking helmet at the Art Museum in Philadelphia.
