Correr Museum è one of the più important and representative museums of the cityà from Venice.È located in the San Marco, near St. Mark's Square.
The Correr Museum offers diverse, exciting itineraries to the discovery of’ Art and History of Venice. The first route passes through the halls“ imperial” the Royal Palace, where the’ Empress Elizabeth d’ Austria resided during his visits in the cityà lagoon.
In the spaces of the Procuratie Nuove, designed from’ architect Vincenzo Scamozzi (1552-1616) and in which resided the major magistratures of Venice, several are illustrated aspects of Civiltà Venetian, from everyday life to public instutions, from naval achievements to local festivities.
On the second floor,è hosted the stunning Picture Gallery which contains important works of’ Venetian art from its origins to the Cinquecento. Nineteen rooms where famous masterpieces follow one another in a set up of Carlo Scarpa.
Finally, returning to the first floorè can admire the Neo-classical Rooms and recently Canova Collection restored. In the five new rooms of the Procuratie all the works of the great sculptor in the collection have been reported to’ original neoclassical splendor, together with the decorative elements of the’ entire section Canova.
