From 12 March to 29 February 2024
Nine large works by Riccardo Cordero , created between 2002 and 2020, in steel and bronze, particularly representative of the Turin sculptor's artistic career over the last twenty years, now arrive in the Gardens of the Royal Palace of Venaria.
His work, connected to a spatial and material reasoning, proceeds from studies on paper, sketches and models until it translates into monumental creations.
Open structures, monument-sculptures, combinations of geometric elements articulated together which give rise to complex creations. Divergent tensions and balances between plastic masses alternate, between solids and voids, with new baroque inclinations.
In this sense the Venaria Gardens constitute an ideal venue. Asteroids, comets, meteors, satellites, sidereal orbits, here compose a surprising constellation of works in dynamic relationship with the architectural and environmental context. As if raining from the sky, they mark the perspectives as far as the eye can see in the Lower Park , along the avenue between the Central Allea and the Potager Royal, and in the Upper Park , along the Terrace Allea, opening up unusual perspective glimpses and points of view .
