At Palazzo dei Musei, the exhibition 'A restoration for Aurelio Luini in Varallo' is set up in the Pinacoteca thanks to the support of Fondazione Cariplo. The exhibition returns to the territory a precious painting created by the Milanese painter Aurelio Luini for the Sacro Monte di Varallo in the seventies of the sixteenth century. Together with some loans from the Civic Library and the section of the State Archive of Varallo, including the Book of Mysteries (1565-1572), it tells a moment in the history of the Sacro Monte of profound renewal.
The restoration of the work was carried out by the Conservation and Restoration Center "La Venaria Reale" under the High Supervision of the Superintendence of Archaeology Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Biella, Novara, VCO and Vercelli and supported by a group of Foundations: Fondazione CR Vercelli thanks to the "Restauri con Arte" grant, Fondazione CRT thanks to the "Cantieri diffusi" grant and Fondazione Banca Popolare di Novara.
