Asleep Amid The Ice is the exhibition dedicated to Annette Lorentzen Casalini (1942-2004), a Danish painter who lived in Valsesia.

The exhibition is curated by Nicoletta Castellaneta and promoted by the artist's family with the sponsorship of the Royal Danish Embassy, the Piedmont Region, the Province of Vercelli, the Mountain Union of the Valsesia Municipalities, and the Municipalities of Varallo and Cravagliana.

The exhibition takes its title from the artwork that opens it and includes a selection of about thirty works arranged in an "ascending" path and created between the seventies and the two thousands, a period in which the artist lives in her mountain home in Cravagliana. During these years, Annette takes long solitary walks and in her retreat, filled with imagination and thanks to her friendship with nature, she seeks to capture happiness through painting. Her significant production includes paintings, drawings, ceramics, artifacts, films, and a series of writings.
