The "Tempio-Palau" is a segment of the Sassari-Palau railway line, which is in turn part of the Ferrovia del Trenino Verde, as the oldest railway network in Europe is called today, connecting the communities of the island for over 130 years. An impressive engineering work, which the exhibition tells like a reportage over the years and history. The 59 km journey starts from Tempio Pausania, passes through Luras, Calangianus, the Liscia Sant'Antonio Lake, until reaching the northeastern coast, Arzachena and Palau. The images document the railway route that crosses Gallura, connecting the mountain to the sea: a journey through time, into the hidden heart of the island, discovering villages and territories characterized by extraordinary, uncontaminated and little-known natural landscapes. Old disused tracks, railway stations that preserve traces of the past, imposing engines corroded by rust and time, waiting rooms and workshops where time seems to be suspended, the gesture of a station master, travelers and tourists, glimpses and unusual angles captured from the moving train blend with fragments of daily life.

The images on display are taken from the impressive photographic archive consisting of negatives, black and white photos, color photos, slides, paper material, collected and digitized by Ruggero over 50 years of activity, precious testimonies dating from 1800 to today representing the historical memory of the life of the communities of Gallura, a heritage to be preserved and handed down to the future.
