For the photography section, the Organic Museum presents "Seaside Edges" by the photographer Donatello Tore, curated by Giannella Demuro. The exhibition explores the effects that certain anthropic phenomena have produced along the margins of the natural boundary zone between water and land. At first glance, Tore's photographs are of a seascape, a landscape that has lost its color, depicted through a scale of blacks, grays, and highlights crossed by a strong dramatic tension. Through black and white, the photographer reinterprets the landscape, removing it from its immediate recognizability to lead it towards a suspended dimension. Beyond the initial line of vision, in fact, the subject of the exhibition is no longer just the sea. The photographer observes its edges, details, interruptions, and transformations and brings to the center of attention what normally remains peripheral: a pier, an abandoned boat, a wall, a suspended net, the glimmer of lights in the night. In this vision, the absence of the human figure does not coincide with the erasure of man. On the contrary, it makes his presence more perceptible. Each image retains the memory of a gesture, a work, or a function; each construction testifies to the attempt to inhabit, use, or cross a naturally unstable territory. Seaside Edges thus offers a reflection on the relationship between nature and artifice, between permanence and transformation, between presence and abandonment. Through essential, rigorous, and intensely evocative photography, Donatello Tore restores a landscape in which the sea is not just a subject to contemplate, but a force capable of preserving, modifying, and ultimately reabsorbing the traces left by man.
