Doria Pamphilj Gallery

The Dora Pamphilj Gallery

The Galleria Doria Pamphilj in Rome houses a private collection in the princely Palazzo Doria Pamphilj , a riot of sumptuous rooms and sumptuous frescoed halls, decorated with hundreds of masterpieces , illuminated by antique Murano glass chandeliers and furnished with fine eighteenth-century furniture.

In the Doria Pamphilj Gallery , the vision of one of the most important art collections in the world is combined with the experience of visiting a place that has preserved over time the memory and style of a family that has always been linked to art, culture and history of our country, but ready to welcome innovation and modernity.

The splendid monumental complex of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj is the result of the architectural and artistic agreement of construction phases that cover a span of four centuries. The entire area contains five courtyards, a sumptuous monumental vestibule , three entrance halls, four magnificent stairways , a series of splendidly decorated rooms and a gallery that exhibits the works of art of one of the most glorious Italian collections of the Baroque period in an eighteenth-century fashion.

Palazzo Doria Pamphilj has housed a private collection unique in the world for centuries. It is not only the quality and value of these masterpieces that amazes, but also their number: the works are so many that they completely cover the walls of the Apartments and the arms of the splendid Gallery.

All this makes it the most important inhabited palace in the city, larger than many European royal palaces, still the residence of the Doria Pamphilj family.
