From 25 November to 7 January 2024
From 25 November 2023 to 7 January 2024 the Boncompagni Ludovisi Museum directed by Matilde Amaturo and belonging to the State Museums Directorate of the city of Rome, directed by Massimo Osanna will host Roberto Giordano's photographic exhibition RI-SENTIMENTI. Stories of last encounters. The exhibition, curated by Valentina Filamingo, opens on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Through 17 black and white shots, the photographic exhibition tells the end of a relationship, the story of a last meeting, during which between feelings and resentments the protagonist somehow relives what her relationship with her partner was . The difficult relationship is retraced with the representation of an enclosure in which both the woman and the man are forced, the former dominated by violence, the latter tied to his own obsession which he is unable to untie.
Roberto Giordano talks about gender violence by dividing the narrative into 5 sections: "the garden", "the fence", "the sea", "the lake", "the house" which illustrate the meetings/clashes of a woman and a man played by the actors Anna Karolak and Fabio Faraglia. Black clouds loom over the two protagonists in all the shots until the last step, that of rebirth, where the woman finds herself alone in front of the mirror, now free from a conflicting relationship and ready to break up the past behind us represented by a small but heavy neck watch.
