Casa do Infante is one of the most emblematic places in Porto, located in the historic district of Ribeira, near the Douro River. Built in 1325 as the headquarters of the customs and royal mint, it is traditionally considered the birthplace of Prince Henry the Navigator in 1394, a key figure in the age of Portuguese discoveries.
Casa do Infante houses the City Museum and the Municipal Historical Archive of Porto. The visit includes archaeological finds, Roman mosaic floors, a reconstruction of medieval Porto, and an interactive multimedia section. It is also home to the Gabinete do Tempo, a project that explores the city's history through immersive installations.
