From 19 December to 19 April 2024
The Imago Museum is thrilled to present the extraordinary exhibition of the work “COSMO. Between canvas, stage and dance" by Mario Schifano, starting from 19 December 2023, at 6:00 pm. This will be a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the art of one of the most iconic masters, exploring a masterpiece that takes audiences on a fascinating journey through the boundaries of painting, dance, music and a universal vision of meaning of life and its origin.
COSMO represents one of the Maestro's most evocative works, created with mixed media in 1990 for the staging of the theater piece “Two Mothers” by Miguel de Unamuno. This extraordinary collaboration involved the composer Marco Schiavoni, the choreographer Aurelio Gatti and the director Patrick Latronica. The play was performed between 1991 and 1993, totaling over one hundred performances throughout Italy. It is a circular scenic work, with a diameter of over seven metres, conceived by the well-known exponent of Italian and European pop art.
In this exhibition, visitors will have the unprecedented opportunity to contemplate this impressive work up close and be transported by Schifano's creative genius. A work that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of art, offering a unique perspective on the connection between painting, theater and music.
