Opening on Saturday, July 6th, the exhibition by Numero Cromatico conceived for the Pescheria Visual Arts Center: a project that explores the relationship between humans, nature, and technology, inviting the public to imagine new ways of inhabiting the world.THE RULES OF BEAUTY BY NUMERO CROMATICO FOR PESARO 2024 Pesaro 2024 - Italian Capital of Culture presents 'In the rules of beauty', the site-specific exhibition project conceived by the collective Numero Cromatico for the Pescheria Visual Arts Center curated by Marcello Smarrelli, opening on Saturday, July 6th (at 7 pm) and will be open for visits until October 13, 2024. The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Pesaro and organized by the Pescheria Foundation in collaboration with Pesaro Museums; the editorial project 'The future is here, somewhere,' curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini, is realized with the contribution of the University of Urbino Carlo Bo within the CTE Square project, the House of Emerging Technologies of the Municipality of Pesaro - FSC 2014-2020 funding.
'In the rules of beauty' dedicates a careful reflection to the relationship between humans, nature, and technology. Using an interdisciplinary approach that oscillates between art and neuroscience, Numero Cromatico constructs a narrative for the Pescheria Visual Arts Center that unfolds through two site-specific environmental installations, designed to immerse the visitor in an unusual perceptual condition and invite them to explore their way of inhabiting the Earth, starting from the relationship between nature and technology. The title of the exhibition takes up a line from a poem by Numero Cromatico generated with the help of S.O.N.H. (Statements Of a New Humanity), the artificial intelligence developed by the collective and created to write poems about the future of humanity. The artificial intelligence, combined with craftsmanship, texts, and sounds, guides the public through a path designed to stimulate a critical look at our present and imagine new ways of inhabiting the world, safeguarding its treasures and ecosystems.
The exhibition path through the spaces of the Pescheria Visual Arts Center unfolds in a fluid narrative based on perceptions. The dodecagonal space of the Suffragio church hosts 'Noosphere,' a work designed to describe the relationship that humanity weaves with the environment and the cosmos. The visitor is immersed in a sea of words that, slowly revealing themselves, unveil the possible futures of the human being. Created by Numero Cromatico and projected on the wall, the texts punctuate the space along with a palimpsest of sounds conceived to accentuate the immersive dimension. The area of the loggia is dedicated to the installation 'Human Code,' composed of a large sail crossed by natural and anthropomorphic symbols, at the base of which are placed 24 tapestries with as many poetic texts. Visible even at night from the outside, the work combines archetypal forms and words to trigger an imaginative mechanism in the visitor, inviting them to reflect on the real meaning of our being human. 'In the rules of beauty' shines a spotlight on the perception of the human being as the center of the universe and addresses art and technology as tools of a vocabulary used to explore new ways of cohabiting with other species and with the world, in perfect synergy with the slogan 'The nature of culture' guiding Pesaro 2024, under the general direction of Silvano Straccini and the artistic direction of Agostino Riitano.
