Museo Gabriele Judica

The collection of the museum, located in the rooms of Palazzo Cappellani in Palazzolo Acreide, comes from the discoveries of Baron Gabriele Judica who carried out excavations on the Akrai site at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The important collection of materials mainly includes the finds from Akrai but a part is made up of the Ferla collection and finds found in the territory of Leontinoi.

The museum is spread over two floors, in the lower one there are prehistoric and protohistoric finds. On the upper floor there are finds from Corinthian colonization (room 1), archaic (rooms 2-3), classical and post-classical (rooms 4-5), Hellenistic (room 6), Roman (room 7) and late Roman (room 8) periods.
