The Musée Jules Verne is a literary museum in Nantes dedicated to the writer Jules Verne, a native of the city of Nantes. Founded in 1978, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the writer's birth, the Musée Jules Verne exhibits books, manuscripts, documents and extracts from the author's works, as well as illustrations, posters and portraits of the writer, as well as games and various objects that they belonged to him. The museum is housed in a large villa built between 1872 and 1878. Although the building has no direct connection with Jules Verne or his family, it is still important to point out that his parents had a country house that was not very far from the current museum: the similar aspect of the museum to the villa helps to evoke some settings of the writer's literary works.
