The Musée de l'primerie de Nantes is a museum in Nantes dedicated to printing and graphics. The idea of preserving 500 years of thought communication came to the two printers Sylvain Chiffoleau and Robert Colombeau. Thanks to the support of the municipality, in 1986 the museum was officially inaugurated. It is a unique place in Europe, a true conservatory of ancient techniques and their traditions, transmitted with love, passion and highly qualified skills. The museum's collection covers various aspects of the printing and publication of books: from the manufacture of paper, to the composition and printing of the text and its illustrations, up to the moment of binding. The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions.
