The Milan Art Library , of particular interest to researchers, conservators, teachers, students, journalists and scholars, preserves a large heritage, which amounts to over 100,000 volumes , constantly increasing, coming from purchases, bibliographic exchanges and donations.
In addition to repertories and digital collections, the Art Library in Milan has an ancient collection and a nucleus of rare editions, including an important series of atlases in folio of the 17th-19th centuries, with the most varied contents: travel notebooks and workbooks by artists, drawings of classical works, copies of masterpieces preserved in museums, city chromotypies and basilicas made between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The ancient collection includes a total of several thousand editions from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, including 63 sixteenth century and more numerous seventeenth century. Also of great interest is the special collection of Artist's Folders and Books (with originals from Treccani to Fiume, from Kandinskij to De Chirico, from Pomodoro to Depero).
