The works from the private collection of the Luciana Matalon Foundation dialogue with the artistic production of the founder in the exhibition spaces of the institution dedicated to her in Milan, in Foro Buonaparte 67.

In the annual event dedicated to the artistic work of its founder, from 6 to 23 December 2023, the Luciana Matalon Foundation presents a selection of works from the institution's private collection.

The collective celebrates over forty years of Luciana Matalon's intellectual and artistic exchanges with the world and the art market, which was followed by the tireless attention of the Foundation and its president Nello Taietti towards contemporary artistic expressions. Conversations offers the public the works of numerous international authors and the Foundation's acquisitions since 2000, the year the institution was founded, on the occasion of personal exhibitions and the Beniamino Matalon prize held in 2007 and 2008. Conversations seals the traces of the most important collaborations with important art critics and historians who have planned anthological and monographic exhibitions in dialogue with the Foundation from its birth to today.

Opening the exhibition itinerary is the large tapestry created in the Seventies by the artist Yvette Cauquil-Prince, in collaboration with Max Ernst, together with pictorial works by Armodio, Vincenzo Balsamo, Mirko Barbierato, Simone Butturini, Ennio Calabria, Andrea Carini, Melo Consoli, Franco Costalonga, Gerardo Dottori, Gianni Dova, Samo Koler, Paola Levi-Montalcini, Monica Marioni, Josè Molina, Petros, Mimmo Rotella, Emilio Scanavino, Jorrit Tornquist, Luigi Veronesi, Matteo Volpati and sculptures by Domenico Asmone, Leonardo Luca, Giorgio Scaini, Walter Valentini, up to a work from the “Acciai” series by Marco Nereo Rotelli, who exhibited his personal project “Lib(e)ri per il mare” in 2022.

To accompany the exhibition itinerary of the exhibition, a new display of the Foundation's permanent collection, with a selection of the most important works created by the artist Luciana Matalon in her over fifty-year career, including paintings, sculptures and jewels, unique and limited editions. which show the symbolism and distinctive sign of the artist.

On the occasion of Conversations, it will also be possible to consult a selection of the catalogs of the collective and monographic exhibitions hosted and produced by the Luciana Matalon Foundation.
